Ferrari Challenge Europa: Grossman wieder auf dem Podium!

Zum 3. Mal in dieser Saison kämpften die Ferrari Piloten an diesem Wochendende um den Europameistertitel. Das G2racing zum 3. Mal in dieser Saison kämpften die Ferrari Piloten an diesem Wochenende um den Europameistertitel. Das G2racing Team mit ihren Piloten Björn Grossmann und Claudio Sdanewitsch zeigten trotz Pech beeindruckende Leistungen. Im ersten Rennen wurde Björn Grossmann auf Platz 2 liegend in der 2. Runde vom 3. platzierten Pergl knallhart abgeschossen. So musste der G2racing Ferrari von Grossmann vor dem Restart des Rennens mit einem tropfenden Kühler in die Box geschoben werden. Die Rennmechaniker von G2racing beeindruckten und tauschten innert knapp 15 Min. den defekten Kühler von Grossmann aus. Sie konnten Ihn wieder voll funktionstüchtig ins Rennen schicken. Mit voller Konzentration drehte der schnelle Grossmann eine Runde nach der anderen und sicherte sich damit die halbe Renndistanz (es ging um 30 Sekunden) des verkürzten Rennens. Dadurch wurde er noch gewertet und kam auf Platz 6 hinter Sdanewitsch ins Ziel. Grossmann erhielt damit 8 wertvolle Punkte in der Gesamtwertung.

Sdanewitsch fängt sich nach der Durchfahrt durch ein Trümmerfeld eines Unfalls soviel Dreck und Wrackteile auf seine Reifen ein, dass der Wagen schwierig zu fahren wird. Trotzdem fuhr er ein sauberes Rennen und beendete es auf Rang 5, das ergibt 9 Punkte für Sdanewitsch.

Im 2. Rennen startete Grossmann von der 2. Startreihe aus und überholte Vasiliev schon nach wenigen Runden. Grossmann versuchte alles um am 1. platzierten vorbei zu kommen, aber mit mehr und mehr abbauenden Pirelli Reifen war das nicht mehr zu schaffen. Sdanewitsch hielt sich geschickt aus allen unnötigen Zweikämpfen raus und beendete das Rennen als sechster.

Im Gesamtklassement verbesserte sich Sdanewitsch an diesem Wochenende auf Platz 6. Grossmann verlor seinen 2. Gesamtrang an Blancardi um einen Punkt. Es sind noch 8 Rennen in der Meisterschaft zu fahren, somit ist alles offen. Baron der Tabellen Erste konnte seinen Vorsprung nicht ausbauen. Blancardi und Grossmann haben den Abstand zu ihm an diesem Wochenende verringert. Für weitere Hochspannung ist somit in der Ferrari Challenge Europa für die nächsten Rennen in Valencia sicher gesorgt.

Ferrari Challenge Europe: Grossmann again on the Podium!

On the weekend the Ferrari drivers were fighting the third time for the European Championship. The G2racing Team with the pilots Björn Grossmann and Claudio Sdanewitsch showed impressive performances despite bad luck. In the first race Björn Grossmann racing in 2nd position got hit by Robert Pergl. Before the restart of the race the Ferrari of Grossmann had to be pushed into the box with a leaky radiator. The racing mechanics from G2racing impressed and exchanged within 15 minutes the broken radiator. They sent the F430 Ferrari back into the race. Grossman could finish half of the race distance, it was only 30 seconds left until the cut off time. Thus the scoring could be maintained and he finished in 6th place behind Sdanewitsch.

Grossmann received 8 points for the champion-ship standings.

Sdanewitsch begins also unlucky. After passing through a debris field of an accident he picks up so much dirt an debris onto his tires that the car is difficult to drive. Despite of this, he drove a clean race and finished on rank 5, which is 9 points for Sdanewitsch.

In the second race Grossmann started from the second Row and overtook Vasiliev after a few rounds. Grossmann tried everything to pass the first car, but with more and more degrading Pirelli Tyres this was not possible any more. So he finished the race on the second place. Sdanewitsch successfully kept out of any unnecessary battles and finished on position sixth,

In the overall ranking of the championship Sdanewitsch improved this weekend from place 8 to place 6. Grossman lost his second overall position to Blancardi by one point.

There are still eight races to go in the championship, so everything is open. Baron which is leading the ranking could not expand his lead. Blancardi and Grossmann narrowed the gap to the leading concurrent. There is definitely more action to come in the next Ferrari Challenge races in Valencia.

Again Podium but tough Weekend in Portugal!

Das 2. Rennwochenende in dieser Saison war für G2racing erfolgreich, aber mit ein paar Wermutstropfen versetzt.

Claudio Sdanweitsch verbesserte seine Rundenzeiten markant gegenüber dem letzten Jahr und fuhr gute 1.57 Min. pro Runde. Das brachte Sdanewitsch den 7. und 8. Platz und wiederum wertvolle Meisterschaftspunkte. Er sammelte in den ersten 4 rennen 20 Punkte und liegt somit auf Platz 8 der Gesamtwertung der Ferrari Challenge Europa.

Björn Grossmann startete ins erste Rennen von der 3. Startreihe, überholte gleich am Start 3 Fahrzeuge und lag während des ganzen Rennens auf Platz 2. Bei der Überrundung eines Fahrers in der letzten Runde konnte ihn der 3. Platzierte auf und unglücklicherweise überholen. Das zweite Rennen konnte Grossmann von der Pole Position angehen. Bei einem Verbremser konnte sich einer seiner Verfolger in einer Kurve leicht vor Grossmann setzen und schnitt in der Folge Grossman so abrupt den Weg ab, dass dieser nicht mehr bremsen konnte, ohne den Überholenden zu rammen. Die Rennleitung entschied unglaublich hart auf eine "drive through" Strafe gegen Grossman. Nach der Strafe musste sich Grossmann ans Ende des Feldes einreihen. Er überholte in der Folge 18 Fahrzeuge. Dadurch landete er trotzdem auf dem erstaunlichen 6. Rang im Gesamtklassement. Die Zuschauer quittierten die Aufholjagd von Grossmann mit einem besonders grossen Applaus, als dieser die Ziellinie überquerte. Grossman liegt nach wie vor auf dem 2. Rang in der Gesamtwertung der Ferrari Challenge Europa.

Obwohl sich die Resultate vom Rennwochenende sehen lassen, war das Team und die Piloten ein wenig enttäuscht, dass sie trotz guten Leistungen mit schlechteren Plätzen als den erwarteten abscheiden konnten.

The second race weekend of this season was successful for G2racing, but mixed with a few drops of vermouth.

Claudio Sdanewitsch improved his lap times significantly compared to last year and drove a good 1:57 minutes per round. This brought Sdanewitsch the 7th and 8th place and he collected valuable points for the championship. He gained 20 points in the first four races and is thus ranked eighth in Ferrari Challenge Europe.

Björn Grossmann started the first race in the third row of the grid, was able to overtake three cars already at the beginning and was throughout the race in second place. By lapping a driver during the last round the third-placed driver was able to catch up and unfortunately overtook him. The second race Grossmann started form pole position. In one corner he missed the breaking point, therefore on of his pursuers was able to put himself a wee bit in front of him. As a consequence he cut Grossmann so abruptly from the way, that Grossmann could not break early enough and hit the overtaking car. The race directors decided incredibly hard, "drive through" penalty against Grossmann. After the sentence, he had to rank at he end of the field. He passed 18 cars thus still achieved an amazing six rank after all. The audience acknowledged Grossman's chase by with a particularly big applause when he crossed the finish line. Grossmann is still on the second rank in the overall standings of the Ferrari Challenge Europe.

Though the results of the race weekend are presentable, the team and the pilots were a little disappointed that they couldn't make better positions despite good performances.
